Charitable Soup Kitchen born as a solidary initiative with the desire to construct a Soup Kitchen for rural children that guarantees daily nutrition for 100 rural children of Huerta Village and Mosocllacta Village.
We also hope to implement a system that guarantees the self-supply of the Soup Kitchen, thanks to the creation of a vegetable garden; the upbringing of farm animals as way of nourishment and for income; access to veterinary supplies for the care of livestock; and the creation of a distribution system of potable water. In addition, we hope to supply basic food products such as rice, oil, onions, potatoes and flour.
Charitable Soup Kitchen, when complete with equipment, will provide 100 food portions from Monday to Friday. Every portion of food will consist of a principal plate, a fruit, and an herbal tea. The principal plate will be created bearing in mind the menus suggested by a Nutritionist, which contains a sufficient quantity of calories, proteins and other necessary nutrients that assure the normal development of boys and girls.
In 2005, the Children's Soup Kitchen in Mosocllacta was set in motion, located in Mosocllacta Village, whose direct beneficiaries are 50 rural children, who daily and in a thankful way, receive a nutritious portion of breakfast and lunch in order to improve their nutritional level. This is possible thanks to the active participation of the rural mothers from the community. The children participate every three months, in the "Growth and Health Control" program in coordination with the Anta Health Centre and the mothers attend a monthly training session in topics of feeding, health, child nutrition and food service.
In 2007, the Children's Soup Kitchen in Huerta was created in Huerta Village, whose direct beneficiaries are 93 rural children. Since October, 2007, the Government of Peru, with the signature of President Alan Garcia, has dismantled The National Program of Children's Soup Kitchen. For this reason our General Assembly of Members agreed that the Children's Soup Kitchen in Huerta and the Children's Soup Kitchen in Mosocllacta will be joined in the new "Charitable Soup Kitchen" that will open its doors in 2009, located in Huerta Village, to continue attending to the basic and primordial needs of our rural children.
Charitable Soup Kitchen will be based on the communal work of the rural mothers who have organized themselves to assume responsibilities for the good operation and the conduction of the facility. The program looks forward with a participatory focus, to strengthen the individual and collective capacities of the families beneficiaries, its organization and self-management, which allows them to achieve better nutritional care and health of their children; and with it to contribute in the reduction of the child malnutrition and poverty.
Espíritus Creativos — Christian Ministries believes firmly that the rural children of few resources have great possibilities if they have the opportunity to grow and to develop in a Christian environment, healthy, stimulant and especially confident and assured. The Promise of God exists for the generous donor: “At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year's produce and store it in your towns, so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the aliens, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands” (Deuteronomy 14:28-29). Amen, Amen and Amen.
